Meet The Team: Hui 陈慧

Made in China, I came to UK to pursue the career of acting, and end up teaching mandarin to some wonderful children here, utilising my storytelling, singing and moving skills.

I grew up in a very small city called Fuzhou in Jiangxi Province, China, where a lot of people speak dialects. For some reason I speak mandarin with my mom but dialect with my dad. Maybe because she is a teacher. Not a mandarin teacher though, a chemistry teacher.

I loved to climb over fences and doing somersaults when I was a kid. I still do. But there aren’t many fences that I can climb (without causing any concerns) and as an adult and my body has grown bigger&longer so I need to be careful not hurting myself with somersaults. Hence I recently picked up how to climb a tree. And I think that’s a wonderful way to exercise! And also to stay in the nature.
I love the nature here in the UK and I love how children found things interesting in the nature. Their curiosity fascinates me. And the way they learn to be in the world keeps surprising me.
