Meet Your Teacher: Hui 老师 lǎo shī

My name is Hui, but I'm known by my surname Sun. Originally from Daqing, a vibrant city in northern China, I moved to the UK at 17 to study at university. Inspired by my son's curiosity and learning experiences, I discovered my own passion for education and began my journey into teaching. This has also led me to study psychology, aiming to become an educational psychologist.

I enjoy a variety of hobbies that keep me and my son active and engaged, including playing the piano, pottery, skateboarding, and climbing. I'm currently training to be a climbing instructor.

For those interested in exploring China, I highly recommend visiting Harbin. Known for its annual themed ice festival on a frozen lake, it has grown into the largest ice and snow festival in the world—a truly magical experience.

A fun fact about me: despite swimming for four years, I still can't tread water! This ongoing challenge adds a touch of humour to my swimming adventures.

And last but not least, my favourite Chinese food is a famous northeastern dish called 锅包肉 guō baō ròu—crispy sweet-and-sour pork. My mouth waters whenever the dish is mentioned!
