Meet Your Teacher: Sunny Liu 老师 lǎo shī

Sunny is a lively and friendly theatre-maker and drama educator, whose personality is as warm and bright as her name. She enjoys connecting with children and easily makes friends with them through play and creativity. Sunny holds a BA in Applied Theatre from Goldsmiths, University of London, where she is an Associate Researcher in the Theatre Department.

She has taught children from nursery to high school, using drama to make language learning enjoyable, build confidence, and encourage imagination. Her teaching philosophy is rooted in the belief that drama can inspire children to learn through play, create through collaboration, and express themselves with joy and imagination. Sunny has led theatre workshops at Helen O’Grady’s Drama Academy and Banlam Grand Theatre, as well as youth theatre projects at Shanghai Dramatic Arts Centre and Xiamen No.1 High School of Fujian, helping children explore language, teamwork, creativity, and intercultural communication through interactive performance.
