Meet The Team: Qing Qing 晴晴

My name is Qingqing (Pronounce: Ching-Ching) and I am a mother of two kids (6yo boy and 3 yo girl). The word Qing in my name means sunny. I am originally from a beautiful city call Qingdao, which situated in North East coast, China. I have been living in the UK for 18 years and half of the time in London. I am now based in the county of Merton, South London.

Chinese Mandarin is my mother tongue and I speak to my children everyday in Mandarin. I enjoy teaching Chinese language very much and in the past years have been gaining experience with Little Mandarin classes as well as my own children.

In my spare time, I like to visit Thame Parks with my family, our current favourite is Legoland Windsor. I also enjoy playing all sorts of outdoor and indoor games such as Monopoly, Chess, hoola hoop, swimming and ball games. My children and I also love to read Chinese as well as English books, we have a big collection of children’s books at home of which I also use as a part of my teaching.

I think learning Mandarin can be really fun and rewarding. Our lesson does not only teach you the language but also open the door for our children to know a different culture and people. My favourite quote is from Confucius: ‘They say the journey of a thousand miles begins with the first step, so hold my hand, and follow me, As I take mine.’
